The Crazy Old Man And A Series Of Strange Happenings
PLEASE NOTE :- This is the continuation of The Crazy Old Man And The Idea That Struck Him.
The Schrodinger's Cat Paradox
A cat, along with a flask containing a poison and a radioactive source, is placed in a sealed box. If an internal Geiger counter detects radiation, the flask is shattered, releasing the poison that kills the cat. This quantum-mechanical "Schrödinger's cat" paradox illustrates that every event is a branch point. The cat is both alive and dead, but the "alive" and "dead" cats are in different branches of the universe that are equally real but cannot interact with each other.
For the first time in 50 years, he was outside during the afternoon, staring at the ground and thinking about God knows what or who knows what? Anyway it seemed to be a revolutionary thought as it made him break his routine. It could be an idea that could probably change his life. It could even change the way the world was then. It could have led to end of the depression and the War. Who knows?
After a while he looked straight (at nowhere in particular). It definitely was an idea. Perhaps it might be an urge to test it out; anyway he suddenly started galloping straight towards nowhere. He ran and ran and ran and ran. He saw monkeys. He saw an elephant. He saw a dear. He saw a tiger. He saw a Hyena. Anyway he ran and ran and ran and ran until he reached someplace he couldn't recognize. He looked around and saw vast expanse of greenery. He ran away from it. Perhaps he didn't like the way the green was spread all around him. He ran and ran and ran and ran and ran and ran until he reached another place devoid of green. He didn't stay there long. Perhaps it wasn't his favorite color. He ran and ran and ran and ran and ran until he found himself in the middle of a fight between two Rhinos. Somehow he felt that he shouldn't be there. So he ran away from there too.
Now, you would've noticed something wrong. You don't get to see dears, tigers, hyenas, elephants and rhinos on the same plane, unless out of some hidden supernatural power within the old man, he managed to cover great distances across the seas. Besides how many old men can run that far? Yes! now you're thinking.
The Fall And The Divergence
He ran and ran and ran and ran until he couldn't feel the ground below. He felt like being sucked into a wormhole. Of course, he didn't know what a wormhole was, but he definitely was being sucked into one. He saw a myriad of colors which was, though, quickly fading away to white. Small patches of the black color began to appear in the vastness of the color white, which quickly ate all the white up in a spiral fashion, thus putting the old man in dark. His head was spinning and he felt like falling into, well, nothingness. Of course all of this experience was very knew to the Old Man and he was, laughing. A mad man indeed. And then THUD!! He hit on smooth solid floor. His head was still spinning and he was still laughing. But then he stopped laughing and tried to get up on his feet but he failed. He gave away a wild roar of laughter."HHAAHAHAHAHA". Just then someone nearby sounding strange screamed so hard that it scared the Old Man. A strange looking being came out of a some kind of a cubicle. It resembled him but had softer and more round features which was pleasing to the Old Man's eyes. At the sight of the old man it screamed again and ran away from him. The Old Man got up. He too started screaming and ran towards the it.
"It" entered a huge place. "HELP!!! A MADMAN IS CHASING ME!!" it shouted, while running as fast as it could away from the old man. "HEYYL! AMAMAN E CCCHSIME" shouted the Old Man, while running as fast as he could towards it. The Old Man saw two others of his kind with blue things around their body and shorter hair running behind him. He stopped and started running towards them. They slowed down and started running away from the Old Man who seemed to be running towards them in a violent fit. Soon a couple of other's started chasing the old man. The Old Man now ran towards them who also slowed down and prepared themselves to capture the Old Man. But then the Old Man stopped running. He remembered about the "It". He looked around and saw a lot of "It"s. He tried to go towards one of them but just then the other the two guys caught him. The 3rd and the 4th now proceeded to put something around his hands. The Crazy Old Man struggled violently.
"Where the hell did this Tarzan guy come from?" said Bob.
"Look at him. He's butt naked" said Chimov.
"Cover him up with something" said Hardik while putting handcuffs on him.
"What do we do with him?" asked Bob
"Let's get him out of the lobby. We'll throw him out and make sure he doesn't get back in. How the hell did he get in anyway? I didn't see him coming in." said Hardik.
"HEEY MAMAMAN CHME" said the Old Man.
"What the hell is he talking about?" said Bob
"Whatever it is, he surely is a crackpot!" said Hardik and pulled the Old Man towards the exit. They dragged him further away from that place, removed the thing around his hands and left him in the open. It was night. Bob threw something at him. They stared at the old man for a while as he was checking on that strange white object which was thrown to him .
"Table cloth? What the... Fine! Lets go." said Hardik.
The Old man stood there in the dark examining the cloth. He felt cold. He didn't know what to do. He tried putting the cloth around his body. It felt better. He looked around. Strange beings with four round legs were going by at great speeds. There weren't many of his kind around. He knew deep inside him that he would encounter with another of his kind. He had vague memories of people in his past. While trying to recall them his eyes came upon a wall straight ahead of him. It seemed like an ordinary barrier to him. But then something in his head told him that it wasn't. It was the same revolutionary thought that had struck him back in the cave and got him here in the first place. Suddenly he knew why that wall was there. The amazingly fast and strange four legged beings didn't seem like amazingly fast and strange four legged beings any more. In fact he began to feel a certain hatred towards them. He felt that those were primitive transportation devices that were killing the planet. Then the wall, he knew that the wall wasn't an ordinary wall. It was something else. Everything became clear to him. He even knew how and why he was here. Suddenly a voice said "Hi".
The Wormhole
In physics, a wormhole is a hypothetical topological feature of space-time that would be, fundamentally, a "shortcut" through space-time. For a simple visual explanation of a wormhole, consider space-time visualized as a two-dimensional (2D) surface. If this surface is folded along a third dimension, it allows one to picture a wormhole "bridge".

Please note, though, that this is merely a visualization displayed to convey an essentially unvisualisable structure existing in 4 or more dimensions. A wormhole is, in theory, much like a tunnel with two ends each in separate points in spacetime. Wormholes would allow travel from one part of the universe to another part of that same universe very quickly or would allow travel from one universe to another. Wormholes connect two points in spacetime, which means that they would in principle allow travel in time, as well as in space. On a theoretical level there are valid solutions to the Einstein Field Equation which contains wormhole. Just because they're possible it doesn't mean they exist. They could merely be leftovers of a mathematical equations. Say, if it exists, unfortunately it is impossible for a traveller to pass through the wormhole from one Universe into the other as they're unstable. The fate of the traveller who ventures in is to die at the singularity which forms from the collapse of the wormhole. In principle, a wormhole could be stabilized by threading its throat with `exotic matter'. The shell of exotic matter has negative mass and positive surface pressure. The negative mass ensures that the throat of the wormhole lies outside the horizon, so that travellers can pass through it, while the positive surface pressure prevents the wormhole from collapsing. The "exotic matter" by the way are hypothetical particles with exotic properties that violate the laws of physics. No such particles are presently known to exist.
The Lady And The Man Who Wasn't There
It had been a strange day for her. She arrived here in the city at evening, to meet a man whom she had never seen in her life. He was supposed to meet her at the lobby of the Hotel in which he was staying. But when she enquired about the man at the reception there was no record of such a man checking in. Add that to the showing up of a naked old man from the wildest jungle in the ladies toilet.
"I don't know where he came from or what he was doing there. He was laughing. Why was he even running after me? I heard him repeat my words. Maybe he was trying to mimic my actions" she said.
"He's gone now. There is no reason to fret. He wont come after you again." said a man to whom she was talking to.
"Thank you" she said "I've to go now. I was supposed to meet someone here but he didn't show up. He said he's been staying here since last Thursday. Do you by any chance know a man named Krundal Dickens?".
"No. Strange name though." he said.
"I agree. Thanks anyway." she said and left the building.
"What a waste!! Where the hell is that guy? Have I lost my brains? Why did I even come here on the summons of someone who I haven't even seen before. I don't even have his picture. What important thing did he have to share with me and how did he know so much about me and my family? What the HELL?" she thought. But she actually spoke out the "What the hell?" part at the sight the same old man standing across the street in the dark covered in a white cloth. She wanted to run but something told her that she didn't have to. He wasn't moving and was staring straight at..(she followed his gaze)..at a wall. There was nothing on the wall. She stood there for a while observing the Old Man who appeared to be thinking about something. Very slowly she started walking towards him. She took every step carefully so as to not disturb the Old Man's pensiveness. She now stood close to him. He wasn't moving. He smelled like pig. Worse than pigs.
"Hi!" she said very slowly.
"Hi, I am that Krundal Dickens" said the Old man.
"Please don't panic. What I am about to do.." before he could complete it the lady fainted.
"Perfect" said the old man.
He lifted her and carried her on his shoulders and started running towards the wall. Just before he reached the wall he jumped and went straight through the wall.
Thank you for reading. Now you can go back to your pointless endeavours.
